Exporting your data
Take everything with you as a zip of spreadsheets and documents.
Settings → Export produces one zip with everything in your workspace. Owner only.
What’s in it
Spreadsheets, one CSV per record type, joinable by their ID columns:
invoices.csv
offers.csv
projects.csv
clients.csv
contacts.csv
deliverables.csv
Documents:
PDFs of every invoice and offer you’ve sent
Signed contracts
The original files of any invoices you imported
Imported invoices contribute the file you uploaded, not a Billow re-render.
Drafts appear in the CSVs but get no PDF.
Requesting one
Hit Request export and leave. Billow emails you when the zip is ready, usually a few minutes.
One export at a time per workspace. Requesting a new one replaces the last.
Downloading
The export stays available for 7 days, then it’s purged. Request another whenever you need one.
Download runs through your own account, so the link isn’t something you can forward.
Exporting from a lapsed workspace
Export works in read-only mode. If your subscription has lapsed, you can still take your data with you. It’s one of the few actions that stays available. See Failed payments and read-only access.
Do this preferably before cancelling, and definitely before deleting a workspace.
